Subject: GRANT OF THREE TIMES BASIC PAY IN THE FORM OF ALLOWANCE TO THE MEMBERS OF DISTRICT JUDICIARY

Sir,

I am directed to state that the Governor of the Punjab has been pleased to sanction Special Judicial Allowance in favour of District and Sessions Judges, Additional District & Sessions Judges, Senior Civil Judges and Civil Judges in the Punjab equal to three times of the initial of their substantive pay scales with affect from 1.7.2008.

Subject: IMPROVING TERMS & CONDITIONS AND INCREASING EMOLUMENTS OF SUB-ORDINATE JUDICIARY AND COURT STAFF

Sir,

I am directed to refer to the above mentioned subject and to state that the Governor of the Punjab has been pleased to sanction/enhance allowances and perks sub-ordinate judiciary and the court staff with effect from 1-1-2008 as detailed below:-

A) Judicial Allowance

Existing Judicial Allowance admissible to the Subordinate Judiciary and Court staff has been enhanced/sanctioned with effect from 1-1-2008 as under:-

i) District & Sessions Judge/Addl. Rs. 14,000/- per month

District & Sessions Judge & Senior Civil Judge

ii) Civil Judges Rs. 12,000/- per month

iii) Subordinate Courts Staff Judicial Allowance sanctioned at rate of 20% of running pay with effect from 1-1-2008.

This Department’s notification of even number dated 18-12-2007 regarding Judicial Allowance for the Judges and Special Allowance for the court staff is hereby withdrawn.

B) Utility Allowance

Utility Allowance will be admissible to the officer/officials of the subordinate courts with effect from 1-1-2008 as detailed below:-

i) Officers in BS-19 and above Rs. 8,000/- per month

ii) Officers in BS-17 and 18 Rs. 5,000/- per month

iii) Staff in BS-1 TO BS-16 10% of running pay but not less than Rs. 1000/- per month

C) Conveyance Allowance

Facility of Conveyance Allowance, admissible to the employees in nine big cities, is extended as special dispensation to all subordinate court staff at all stations in the Punjab with effect from 1-1-2008.

Subject: ALLOWANCES AND PERKS FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF LAHORE HIGH COURT, LAHORE

Sir, I am directed to refer to the above mentioned subject and to state that the Governor of the Punjab has been pleased to sanction/enhance allowances and perks for the Members of the Establishment of the Lahore High Court, Lahore as detailed below:

A) Judicial Allowance

Existing Judicial Allowance admissible to the officers of the Lahore High Court has been enhanced with effect from 1-1-2008 as under:

i) Officers in BS-19 and above Rs. 14,000/- per month

ii) Officers in BS-18 Rs.12,000/- per month

iii) Officers in BS-17 Rs. 10,000/- per month

This Department’s notification of even number dated 22-1-2008, may be deemed modified accordingly.

B) Utility Allowance

Utility Allowance will be admissible to the officers/officials of the Lahore High Court at the following rates with affect from 1-1-2008:-

i) Officers in BS-19 and above Rs.8,000/- per month

ii) Officers in BS-18 Rs.5,000/- per month

iii) iii) Officers in BS-17 10% of running pay but not less than Rs. 1000/-per month

C) Car Allowance

Officers of the Establishment who have not been provided with official vehicles are entitled to draw car allowance in lieu of Conveyance Allowance with effect from 1-1-2008 at the following rates:-

i) Officers in BS-20 and above Rs. 7,000/- per month

ii) Officers in BS-19 Rs. 6,000/- per month

iii) Officers in BS-17 and 18 Rs. 5,000/- per month

2. Further necessary action may kindly be taken accordingly.
