BOARD OF GOVERNORS

For carrying out the aims and objects of the Academy, a Board of Governors has been constituted under section 5 of the Act, which consists of:

2	Federal Minister for Law, Justice & human rights	Vice-Chairman
3	Secretary, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs	Member
4	Attorney-General for Pakistan	Member
5	Chief Justice of Lahore High Court	Member
6	Chief Justice of High Court of Sindh	Member
7	Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court	Member
8	Chief Justice of BalOchistan High Court	Member
9	Director General of the Academy	Member/Secretary

The Board of Governors, shall inter alia:

(a)    exercise general supervision over the affairs of the Academy;

(b)    lay down the policy and programme for training and approve courses of training

(c)    evaluate and examine the activities of the Academy;

(d)    approve and consider the annual budget and revised budget estimates;

(e)    create, abolish, suspend and upgrade posts, affiliate with Provincial judicial academies and other training and educational institutions.
Under section 7 of the Act, powers have been delegated to the Hon'ble Chairman of the Board, for performance of certain important functions of urgent nature, and he exercises control over and supervision of the affairs of the Academy, which he carries out with the assistance of Hon'ble Judge , Supreme Court of Pakistan, who has been nominated by the Hon'ble Chairman as Judge-In charge of the Academy, in order to institutionalize the decision making relating to administration and to decentralize his powers.
Under section 10 of the Act, the management of the Academy is carried on, under the general directions of the Board, by the Director General as its academic and administrative head. He is responsible for the maintenance of good order and discipline and is also the Principal Accounting Officer of the Academy.
